“I learn from talking to people. Everyone has their unique story and experiences so it’s important to listen and get their perspectives. You never know when you’ll learn something new.”
Throughout her career in K-12 education, Marci Giang is committed to supporting school and district leaders as they work to improve the human capacity of school systems to build innovative, digital learning environments for all students.
Prior to joining Digital Promise, Marci was the Director of Professional Advancement at CoSN – the Consortium for School Networking, where she was responsible for the strategic vision, development, and management of their professional learning content. She built their first online learning courses, created their annual webinar series, managed the development of key resources, and provided oversight to leadership initiatives. She has experience in educational technology issues such as student data privacy, digital equity/accessibility, and cybersecurity. Marci designed and implemented a new blended learning program for early-career technology leaders and initiated the development of the first project management course specifically targeted to the needs of education technology leaders.
Before CoSN, Marci worked at the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) as a Senior Program Associate. She managed two foundation grants that focused on improving the quality and use of education data to inform decision-making at the policy and instructional level. She also worked to improve data interoperability by promoting a common set of data standards for educational systems.
Marci was a DC Teaching Fellow while earning her Master of Arts in Teaching from American University in Washington, DC. She received her undergraduate degree in Government and International Relations with a minor in East Asian Studies from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. She now joins Digital Promise as a Network and Programs Project Director and can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
